As we know that every February 14, across the world, include  the Gonzaga Senior High School Jakarta too: candy, flowers and gifts are exchanged between loved ones, all in the name of St. Valentine.

The Catholic Church recognizes the figure  of St.Valentine. He was a priest who served during the third century in Rome. When Emperor Claudius the Second decided that single men made better soldiers than those with wives and families, he outlawed marriage for young men.  St.Valentine, realizing the injustice of the decree, defied Emperor Claudius and continued to perform marriages for young lovers in secret.

In order to honor St.Valentine,  SMA Gonzaga always celebrate the Valentine day as a day of  celebration and remembrance of human compassion to others.

The theme of this anniversary : "Love is more expressed in deeds than in words"  The Valentine day at SMA Gonzaga was begun with Thanksgiving Eucharist which led by Father Michael “Keli “Adi Siswanto Pr,( the  SMA Gonzaga  alumni, graduated in 2002 ). In his sermon, he reminded  for all Gonzaga student to always look at the whole process of education at SMA Gonzaga  as an action of their love for their alma mater.

The celebration has also been enlivened by the performances of  : Gonzaga Jazz Project, Easy Company, Lolangs, The Story Goes and Prambors FM radio. .

The inspiration of Valentine day can remind us as member of Gonzaga communities  that love, peace and hope to God can be implemented to others every day.
